Ever felt like everything’s going right… until suddenly it isn’t?

You’re finally finding a rhythm. Eating better, moving more, feeling sharper at work — and then life throws a curveball.A project deadline, family stress, illness, burnout… and
suddenly, your health takes a backseat again.
Sound familiar? You’re not alone. And this is exactly where resilience comes in.
What Athletes Know About Resilience (and What You Can Learn From It)
In athletics, setbacks aren’t rare, they’re constant. Injuries, missed opportunities, cancelled events… I’ve lived them all. I was at my peak fitness when COVID hit. I’d qualified for the European Championships, was chasing an Olympic dream, and then everything stopped. Soon after, injuries wiped out whole seasons. My most recent? An ankle injury just before Nationals, right after hitting two personal bests. Don't get me wrong, it sucked. But I knew spending time and energy dwelling on it wouldn't get me anywhere. So, I refocused, on recovery, on what I could control, on why it mattered to me in the first place. That’s resilience: not ignoring setbacks, but learning how to adapt and keep moving toward what matters most.

Why This Matters for Busy Professionals
Resilience isn’t just for athletes. If you’re a professional juggling deadlines, meetings, and personal responsibilities, you face constant challenges too. Maybe your energy’s dropped, stress is building, or you’ve lost your healthy habits because work took over. That’s not failure, that’s life.
What matters is how you respond. You can change the plan, not the goal. Refocus, reset, and keep moving forward. That’s exactly what I teach inside The Athlete Mindset Method: my 10-week coaching programme designed to help busy professionals rebuild energy, sharpen focus, and say goodbye to burnout using the same mindset principles athletes rely on to perform at their best.
Resilience Challenge
Try this quick reflection:
Think back to a time when things didn’t go to plan, in your health, your career, or your personal life.
Identify what mattered most to you during that moment.
Write one action you took (or could take now) to move forward.
This exercise trains your brain to shift from “I failed” to “I’m adapting.” That’s the real secret behind long-term success, whether in sport, business, or life.
